Why "Francis Mesmo"?
"Ever since I can remember, my name has been associated with many things. 'Soap' is probably the first—maybe the most common and constant.
In Brazil, there’s a well-known personal care brand called Francis, famous for its soaps and perfumes. Because of that, anyone named Francis inevitably hears some joke about it. And, of course, I wasn’t an exception.
Then, a philosophy teacher started calling me 'Francis Ford,' 'Francis Bacon,' or 'Francis Coppola'—he liked to mix it up. When the first Deadpool movie came out, the name 'Ajax' started popping up in my daily life.
But one thing never changed: the question.
'Is your name Francis, or is it just a nickname for Francisco?'
'Wait, is it really Francis*(Francis mesmo*), or is that just a nickname?'
'What's your real name?'
The question varies, but the answer is always the same:
'It's Francis Mesmo...'"
Why "Francis Mesmo"?
I have always been surrounded by technology, influenced by my father, a software developer. In 2010, I uploaded my first video on YouTube and started editing to promote game cheats. In 2012, I officially became an editor and, at 16, created a gaming channel, but I stopped in 2014 to focus on my college entrance exams.
I enrolled in Computer Engineering in 2015 but switched to Computer Graphics in 2016. I graduated, worked at Paris Luz Iluminação (2017), and started studying Advertising and Marketing (2018). I interned at Smart Machine (2019) and EPTV (2020), where I returned to video editing.
In 2021, I was hired by Avocado, where I grew professionally. In 2022, I took on a Motion Designer role at Weclix, until, in 2023, EPTV invited me back as a full-time employee.
Since April 2023, I have been a video editor and motion designer at EPTV, with my work reaching thousands of people.
